Gung Pow Mobile Slot Review
Gung Pow is a new slot from Microgaming, one of the pioneers in online gaming, and the company that are generally credited with the creation of the 243-ways-to-win game layout, which so many players are keen on today.
Like many of their other popular productions, Gung Pow indeed does feature the 243-ways-to-win layout, and this means that matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right rather than any special pay-line construction forms winning combinations.
The huge, colourful symbols are accentuated by the plain, dark red backdrop.
In terms of the symbols, you’ll notice high-paying symbols include a selection of fireworks, sparklers, and rockets. The Chinese paper lantern is the highest-paying symbol. Annoyingly, Microgaming have also decided to include all the lower-paying symbols in the form of traditional playing-card symbols, including 10, J, Q, K, and A.
The Gung Pow symbol appears only on reels two and four and is wild, substituting for everything but the scatter.
The Chinese dollar is the scatter which activates the key bonus feature within the game.
The free-spins round is triggered by landing three or more of the scatter symbols in view, and do so, and you’ll win fifteen free-spins. During the free-spins, all wins are subject to a 3X multiplier, and landing three more scatter dollars during this round will add another fifteen spins on to your remaining total.
On any win, both in the free-spins, and in the main bonus round, you’ll have the chance to gamble the wins for larger, bigger wins.
Simply click the “Gamble” button, and you’ll be taken to a pack of playing cards, where you can either pick a 50:50 shot, by predicting the colour of the next card, or if you want to win a 4/1 money shot, you can choose to guess the suit of the next card. Weirdly, the gamble function only allows you to gamble 5 times in a row, and while this isn’t a problem for most players, it’s something we don’t usually see from Microgaming.
Gung Pow is designed to be played on all types of mobile devices, and will run on Android, IOS, Windows, and Blackberry operating systems perfectly fine, without any issues. You will want to use a sturdy Internet connection, ideally 4g or WIFI compatible, but note that a 3G connection will work – just perhaps not as well.
Pros Gung Pow is fun, exciting, and packed full of an exciting bonus round that can be re-triggered!
Cons It’s a clone of the original Microgaming game Firecrackers.
