Psycho Mobile Slot Review
Psycho is a 5 reel, 25 payline video slot powered by NextGen Gaming.
The mobile game, produced in co-operation with Common Studios, is founded around the iconic 1960’s film of the same name, which is well-known for being a classic American thriller/horror, written and developed by the era-defining Alfred Hitchcock.
Psycho mobile slot follows the life of Norman Bates, a troubled man, who – thanks to his messed-up upbringing – can’t control himself from killing people, fuelled by mental “blackouts”, resulting in him being unable to recall his heinous acts!
The Psycho film is often cited as being one of Hitchcock’s best, and with the recent release of a prequel TV series, called “Bates Motel”, Psycho has become more popular than ever before. Fittingly, NextGen Gaming released Psycho: The Video Slot – and it’s already proving a BIG hit with players.
While the game lacks originally in terms of the reel symbols used (there’s traditional playing card symbols, including 10, J (Jack), Q (Queen), K (King), and A (Ace) and only a few high-paying, game specific symbols), the backdrop, music, and tone of the slot is absolutely spot on, and from seeing the Motel up on the hill, to the way the bonus-round is delivered, it’s amazing that Video Slot technology can instil such a sense of ‘fear’ into a player – and trust us – here in the Slots4Play studio, we really were on the edge of our seats playing!
The first feature takes place within the main base-game, and triggers randomly when before the spin starts.
Once you click spin, on certain spins, you’ll see the right-hand-side of the screen features a copy of the House featured in Psycho – this can show a multiplier on it, ranging from 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x or 20X!
The main bonus-round is the free-spins feature. The free-spins round is triggered by landing 3 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, and this allows you to enter the free spins bonus. You’re now awarded with 10 free-spins, and the wilds change, so that this time, you can get multipliers of 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 20x or 40x.
The good news, is that you can re-trigger the bonus simply by landing more scatter symbols in view on the reels. The re-trigger appears relatively easy to land, which is nice, especially when the actual feature itself can take a while to drop in.
There’s great news for all Psycho fans out there: the game’s now available to play from mobile phones and tablets, and you don’t need ANY special software to begin playing! Just open up the game through your Internet Browser, and that’s it; you’re ready to play! Good luck…
Pros: A great game that accurately emulates the original film, the bonus can be VERY profitable if you strike it lucky!
Cons: Landing the feature can takes ages!
